Are you interested in dedicating your child?

What are Child Dedications?

"Dedicating" your child is a public commitment to raise your child to know and experience the love of Jesus. Not only are you as the parent making a commitment, but the Church is committing to walk alongside you through prayer, encouragement, etc. as you raise your children. You are standing before your church family to say, "I will teach them how to follow Jesus" and the church responds in kind. We see child dedications as a beautiful way to come together as a community and support families.

When should I dedicate my child?

You can dedicate your child at any age. While many people choose to do this when their children are babies, there is no wrong time to participate in child dedications. Especially if your family is new to following Jesus!

How does it work?

Each year we host at least one day of Child Dedications during both of our Sunday gatherings, typically on Mother's Day. If you are interested, you can submit an interest form today. Then when we are getting ready to host Child Dedications, we will reach out and help you walk through the process thoughtfully.

Do you have any questions about baptism for your child?

How do I know my kid is ready to be baptized?

Talk with your child about baptism. It is important that this decision is one they are making for themselves, and for the right reasons. We want kids to understand that baptism is an outward sign of the commitment that they want to follow Jesus for their whole life. Baptism does NOT = salvation.

What do I do if I don't think my kid is ready but they're asking me to?

You can either ask them to wait or set up a time to talk with Abby. She can help you evaluate your child's readiness for baptism.

What's the best way to meet with you about baptisms (talk after church, email and set a time, phone call, etc).

If you want to talk with Abby about baptism or if your child has questions email her to let her know and plan to talk after service on Sunday.
