Why are groups important?

VC Groups are a vital part of Vancouver Church. We believe that being a part of a group is one of the best ways to be a part of community, and grow to be more like Jesus. The purpose of a VC group is to promote spiritual growth and make disciples who make disciples.

Whether you are looking to dive deeper in your relationship with Christ or you have doubts and questions you are afraid to ask, VC Groups are a safe place to explore faith.

VC Groups are a great place to study the Bible, talk about God and support and build relationships with each other. A group can meet for a specified period of time or every week or month. Our dream is to see everyone at VC connected beyond Sunday gatherings, and join a VC Group.

What are groups?

They are relational – a place of love, connection and support

    • John 13:34-35 – “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

They promote spiritual growth – a place where we become more like Jesus

    • 2 Corinthians 3:18 – And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

They are missional – we share the Good News and make disciples who make disciples

  • Matthew 28:19-20 – Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
