GriefShare. Have you lost someone close to you? How can you cope? That’s the reason for GriefShare, a caring support group that provides tools and resources to help on your road to recovery. A 13-week session begins Monday, September 11 at 6:30 PM in the fireside room. Workbook cost is $20. Contact Barbara Waite at 360-546-3888 if you are interested in attending.
Women, study the book of Mark along with your Christian sisters! You are invited to join us starting Wednesday, September 13 from 9-11 AM in room 120. You will experience valuable Bible teaching, music, small group discussion, and get to know some great women! Using the study guide, Divine Service, you’ll explore Mark’s unique perspective on the service of Jesus, along with historical background, and personal application. Study guide is $8; available at the study.
Middle School Youth Fall Kick Off BBQ on Wednesday, September 13 from 6:30-8 PM. Parents are invited to join us for dinner, a parent vs. kid kickball tournament, and a meet & greet with the youth leaders to start the 2017-2018 school year off well.
Friday Game Night September 15. Grab your favorite board game and come for an evening of fun in the fireside room 7:00 to 8:30 PM. This monthly connection event is an opportunity for you to get to know someone new. All adults are welcome! Call Justin at 360-909-8806 for more information.
Young Adults are invited to go to Top Golf in Hillsboro, Oregon on Saturday, September 16. We will meet at the church at 3:30 PM and carpool to Hillsboro for 2 hours of golfing. The cost is $20 for 2 hours of golfing. Bring some extra spending money for food. Questions? Contact Casey.
Life Groups. We will be launching a series in October and are encouraging everyone to get connected in a group for the duration of the 8-week series! Learn more about life groups or join one today.
Wednesday Evening Women’s Beth Moore Study begins September 20 from 6-8 PM in room 120. All women are invited to join us for “Here and Now…There and Then”, an 11-week series which walks through the book of Revelation. Call Nancy at 360-601-6038 to reserve a workbook ($10).
Women’s Retreat. Room is still available at Black Lake Bible Camp in Olympia where Vancouver Church women are joining others for a refreshing spiritual getaway October 6-8. $135 includes lodging, meals, and activities. $35 deposit reserves spot. Opportunities to Serve
2017 Singing Christmas Tree informational meeting on Sunday, September 10 from 12:30 – 1:30 PM in the fireside room for anyone interested in helping with this year’s Singing Christmas Tree. We will discuss practice times, rehearsal dates, performance dates, and the level of commitment needed for each position. We also need of a few props this year. The Giving Closet 2804B NE 65th Ave Vancouver WA 360-993-4800. Current needs: liquid hand soap, toothbrushes, travel size toothpaste, disposable razors, travel size shave cream, new men’s underwear size large, disinfectant spray, and disinfecting wipes. We also need volunteers on Wednesdays & Thursdays from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM to help in different capacities from restocking the shopping floor, helping our guests at the door, sorting donations, and cleaning.
