Events & Announcements

Church Entrances. Starting today the entrances on the North end of the building will remain locked. Please enter the building using the East bell tower entrance, the West family entrance, or the South church office entrance.

Feast. Middle & High School Youth will be gathering Wednesday, November 15 from 7-9 PM in the student ministries room for a Thanksgiving meal and special worship night. Middle School parents: note the gathering will end at 9 PM. Middle and High School Youth will not be gathering on Wednesday, November 22, and Middle School Collective will not be gathering on Sunday, November 26.

Friday Game Night. Grab your favorite board game and come for a​n evening​ of fun​ in the Fireside Room on Friday, ​November 17 at 7 PM. This connection event ​is the perfect opportunity to get to know someone new over a friendly game. Everyone is invited. For more information, call Justin at 360-909-8806.

Gramma’s Bazaar. Shop from over 100 vendor tables at Women’s Ministries huge annual holiday bazaar on Saturday, November 18 from 9 AM – 4 PM in the high school gym. You’ll find one-of-a-kind hand-crafted items, and holiday gifts.

The Early Risers class invites all adults to join them for 9 sessions that will help you think in a Christian manner about today’s biggest issues. Topics such as “God and Government, A Just War, and How Far to Go With Animal Rights” are included. The study begins Sunday, November 19 at 8 AM in the fireside room.

Surviving the Holidays. If you have lost a loved one, the thought of facing the holidays without them may cause you some anxiety or even dread. We want to invite you to an event on Monday, November 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Cost is $5 for workbook. Call Barbara, 360-546-3888, for the event location and to sign up.

Ladies Bunco Night! Monday, November 27 in room 120. The event begins at 6 PM, with time of fellowship and snacking. Bunco game begins at 6:30 PM and will finish by 8 PM. If you haven’t played Bunco before – don’t let that stop you! Just come prepared to have fun and win prizes, and bring a friend! Childcare will be provided. Each person is asked to bring a finger food/snack item to share. Beverages are provided. Call Mary at 360-949-3094 if you have questions.

A Night in Bethlehem. Friday, December 1 from 6-8 PM. Children’s Ministry invites families to an adventure exploring the city of Bethlehem. Guests will visit booths around the city, and enjoy hands-on experiences, crafts, and snacks—all while learning about Jesus! Admission is free. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required! 45th Annual Singing Christmas Tree performances are on December 6, 8, and 9 at 7 PM and December 9 and 10 at 3 PM.  Admission is free! All donations received during the performances will benefit The Giving Closet. Be sure to pick up invitation cards at the Welcome Center today, and use them generously to invite your friends and family to this year’s event!


Opportunities to Serve

Christmas Wishes. Beginning today, Vancouver Church has the opportunity to provide a Christmas wish to someone in our community who is facing a tough holiday season. We are providing gifts and blessing:
• kids at Sacajawea Elementary School
• high schoolers at Daybreak Youth Services (addiction treatment facility)
• low income families at our 2nd annual Neighborhood Banquet (December 10)
• Veterans at Kleen Street (transitional housing for vulnerable adults)
• grandmas & grandpas at Arbor Ridge Assisted Living, Hazel Dell
Choose a tag from the Wall of Wishes in the church lobby and return all unwrapped gifts along with the tag to the church lobby by Sunday, December 3. Questions? contact

Set-Up for the Singing Christmas Tree is just around the corner! Frame set-up begins at 6 PM on Monday, November 20, with both heavy and light lifting.
