Mental Illness. How should Christians respond? Churches are regularly approached by people that need help in dealing with the symptoms of mental illness—their own or someone else’s. Many Christians want to respond but have no idea of what will make a difference. Gain insight as you explore this topic Sunday mornings at 8 AM in room 116 in this continuing series. Friendship Adult Bible Class begins a new study today, May 28, of “The Images of Christ.” Come and learn delightful word-pictures of who Jesus is and what He is like so that we might know Him better and be more like Him. Everyone is invited to join us for this series on Sundays in room 120 at 11 AM.

The Church Office will be closed on Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day.

Ladies, Bunco has been rescheduled to Monday, July 31st. We will not be playing Bunco on Monday, May 29th due to the holiday. Call Mary, 360-949-3094, if you have questions.

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) registration is open. MOPS will begin meeting on Thursday, September 21, 2017 and will continue meeting on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month until June 1, 2018. Registration is $60 ($65 after May 31, 2017). Register online at

JOLT (baby boomers) will NOT be meeting in the months of June and July.

Summer Youth Camp Dates: High School, July 10-16; and Middle School, August 25-27!

Dream Center, August 12-19: Young Adults register for this serving retreat in Los Angeles. This retreat will include a time of serving with the Dream Center in Los Angeles to those in critical need.

The Foundation Board is seeking applicants for the Jay Kennedy Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is available to students pursuing the Ministry as a vocation. The Church Library has plenty of choice titles to choose from in several categories! You’ll find the library inside the Fireside Room. Come in and browse the library anytime the church building is open, and enjoy easy self-checkout. Please be mindful not to interrupt any class meeting in the fireside room, i.e. Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM and 11 AM.

Opportunities to Serve

Mark your calendar: T1L1 founder, Dr. Lori Salierno-Maldonado will be speaking at our Sunday morning worship gatherings on June 4th!

The Giving Closet 2804 B NE 65th Ave • Vancouver WA 98661 • 360-993-4800. We are in need of your donations! In the next week or so, clean out your closets, drawers, and cupboards. Then, place your donations in the wooden bins located in the church lobby or bring them to the Giving Closet and take a tour! Items needed are: men’s clothing, new underwear, new or gently used school age children’s shoes, and backpacks. Thank you for your continued support!

Vancouver Jail Ministry gladly accepts your donations of soft covered Christian reading material (e.g. Christian books and unused bible studies) at the Connections Center, located in the church lobby. These materials help encourage inmates and gives them positive mental thoughts.
