Events & Announcements

45th Annual Singing Christmas Tree performances are at 7 PM on Wednesday, December 6; Friday, December 8; and Saturday, December 9; matinées are at 3 PM on Saturday, December 9, and Sunday, December 10. Admission is free! All donations received during the performances benefit The Giving Closet.

JOY Fellowship Christmas Luncheon is Tuesday, December 12 at 12 noon in the King’s Way High School cafeteria. Purchase your ticket at the Welcome Center today or from Pastor Mark Kelly for $10 each. Price includes a holiday meal and dessert. The King’s Way Christian School choirs will be our special music and our servers; tip jars will be available to help with the choir students’ choir trip.

Christmas Eve Schedule: To allow more time for festivities, we are moving our 6 PM gathering from Sunday, December 24 to Saturday, December 23 at 6 PM. On Sunday morning, December 24, we will have our 9:15 AM traditional and 11 AM worship gatherings as usual. All Sunday adult classes are canceled on December 24. There is no evening service on December 24.

Adult Retreat (formerly Senior Adult Retreat) will be held at the Cannon Beach Conference Center in beautiful Cannon Beach, Oregon March 20-22, 2018. Registration will begin at the JOY Fellowship Christmas Luncheon on Tuesday, December 12 and will continue through March 12, 2018. Pastor Bob Christensen will be our speaker. An opportunity to win a full scholarship to the retreat will be offered at the JOY Luncheon. Gift certificates are also available, should you need a Christmas gift for a loved one.  Please see Marla Riley for more information.

Opportunities to Serve

Serving Opportunities. There are many various opportunities for you to serve at Vancouver Church during this joyful season! We have roles that have you interacting with lots of people, and roles where you are more behind the scene. Opportunities to serve include the 45th Annual Singing Christmas Tree, our Neighborhood Banquet, and our Sunday gatherings. Grab a tag or two in the church lobby today to help serve the hundreds of guests we’re excited to welcome on our campus this Christmas season!

The Giving Closet 2804B NE 65th Ave • Vancouver • 360-993-4800. Helpers are needed on Wednesdays & Thursdays in a variety of areas from restocking the shopping floor, helping our guests at the door, sorting donations, and cleaning. Contact for more information.

The Giving Closet’s donation boxes were moved for drop off ease. You’ll find them located just inside the South and West entrances of the church building.

Vancouver Jail Ministry gladly accepts your donations of soft-covered Christian reading material. The jail no longer accepts magazines. These materials help encourage inmates, and gives them inspiring thoughts! Bring your donations to the church office, and place them in the jail ministry’s book receptacle.
