Events & Announcements

Welcome to Vancouver Church! Connecting and building meaningful relationships is a huge part of what we believe in. We would love to hear from you. Please fill out a Connections Card, located in the seat back in front of you, and place it in the offering bucket or take it to the Welcome Center.

Flourish. The 6 has a unique women’s community that meets to care for each other, learn how to get closer to God, and press into their God-given identity and purpose. Monthly meetings are first Tuesdays at 6:30pm in the Student Ministries room. No registration needed. The next meeting is Tuesday, March 5.

JOLT & PEP, for baby boomers & senior adults, will have our monthly potluck and game night on Friday, March 8 at 6pm in the fireside room. Bring a main dish, side dish, or dessert to share, and your favorite table game.

Reminder: Daylight Savings Time begins at 2am on Sunday, March 10!

JOY Fellowship will not be meeting in March due to the Annual Adult Retreat in Cannon Beach, OR.

Annual Adult Retreat March 19-21 at Cannon Beach Christian Conference Center. It’s not too late to sign up! This year’s program features Benjamin Shular with music by Mark Kelly. Sign up in the foyer today, or contact Pastor Larry Whittlesey at 503-475-1592 or email Larry@vancouverchurch.org.

Introducing VC Equipped! We’re launching a series of family-based workshops and events and our kickoff workshop is Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage on March 22-23. Come explore the underlying dynamics of male/female relationships with humor, and get practical solutions to common challenges. Early registration is open now for $20 per couple. Childcare is available. Register by texting VCEquipped to 97000.

Save the Date: We’ll celebrate baptisms here on Easter Sunday!

Bible Reading Plans. We’ve printed more “Read The Bible” booklets and they are available in the church lobby today. They will continue to be available in the lobby throughout the year. The booklets have 3 different reading plan options to help you get into the Bible more in 2019.

Giving. Text any $ amount to 84321. Follow the prompts to set up your account. Giving envelopes are always available at the Welcome Center and in the church office.

There’s a new surprise on the video screens at VCKids this Sunday. Be sure to check it out and tell us what you think! In classes this week, kids will learn from Acts 3 how God helps us be BOLD! And even though it doesn’t come easy for all of us, it doesn’t come in our own strength anyway – it only comes from God at work in our lives. Be sure to ask your kids what they learned about God helping them to be bold this weekend!

High School: Spring Break is coming up. Don’t forget, no gatherings the first week in April. And for those who are starting to think beyond Spring Break to summer … the dates for our summer camp are in! Plan now to join us July 10-15 at Vancouver Church Summer Camp!

Middle School: Join us for our 5-week Bible reading plan, Vital, on the YouVersion Bible app! This plan focuses on loving Jesus so we can love others even better. Students can post something that stood out to them in the feed as they read in the app. Every small group has their own page too, so be sure to contact your group leader if you need to be added!

Opportunities to Serve

Vancouver Jail Ministry gladly accepts your donations of soft-covered Christian reading material. The jail no longer accepts magazines. These materials help encourage inmates. Bring your donations to the church office.

The Mission Action Committee will be accepting donations during the month of March of Christian-related books for the Church of God Bible College in India. A broad range of books are needed such as: Bible studies, commentaries, dictionaries, Christian living, theology, leadership, Sunday School, and pastoring. Christian-based novels and other fiction are not appropriate. Please bring your donations to the Welcome Center by March 31. All donations will be sent to a central location in the USA in April, from where they will be sent to India along with donated books from other churches.

Giving Closet • 2804 B NE 65th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98661 • 360-993-4800 • www.givingcloset.org. Dine at Warehouse 23 on Tuesday, March 12, and 50% of your bill will be donated directly to our community partner, The Giving Closet. It costs just $108 to provide a family in need with free access to clothing, bedding, and household items for a whole year. Your meal can have an impact on a Clark County family long after March 12th! Don’t forget to tell your server you are dining to support The Giving Closet.
