Events & Announcements

Welcome to Vancouver Church. Connecting and building meaningful relationships is a huge part of what we believe in. We would love to hear from you. Please fill out a Connections Card, located in the seat back in front of you, and place it in the offering bucket.

It’s not too late to join this year’s Singing Christmas Among the Trees choir! We practice on Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm in the fireside room. All singers age 12 years through adult who are looking for a fun and meaningful way to serve with their voices are welcome! Today is the last day to sign up. For more information, contact Terry Mendenall at 360-694-9760.

Tuesday Morning Women’s Bible Study. Join us beginning October 2nd for a Beth Moore study called Breaking Free. We meet in room 120 from 8:45-11am. This in-depth study looks at the Book of Isaiah through the lives of the kings who ruled during the prophet Isaiah’s ministry. These kings exemplify many of the obstacles to freedom with which we must deal. God wants us free! Whether you have years of bible knowledge or never have been to a study, you are in a safe place. Email for more information or to reserve your workbook ($20). Childcare is provided.

Traditional Service moves to 9am starting next Sunday, October 7

JOLT & PEP. Baby boomers and senior adults are invited to the monthly potluck/game night on Friday, October 12 at 6 pm in the fireside room. Please bring a main dish, side dish, or dessert to share, and your favorite table game.

Save The Date: Annual Adult Retreat at Cannon Beach Conference Center March 19-21, 2019. Registration begins January 6th.

Giving. Text any $ amount to 84321. Follow the prompts to set up your account. Giving envelopes and ‘Revive & Thrive’ envelopes are always available at the Welcome Center and in the church office.

Pick up a copy of this week’s Prayer & Praise sheet from the foyer. It includes “Vancouver Church Family News” (i.e. births, deaths, memorial services, etc.) along with a list of staff, ministry partners, and prayer requests from our church family to be lifting up in prayer during the week.

Vancouver Jail Ministry gladly accepts your donations of soft-covered Christian reading material. The jail no longer accepts magazines. These materials help encourage inmates, and gives them inspiring thoughts! Please bring your donations for the Jail Ministry to the church office.

Love Thy Neighborhood Community Partner Spotlight September: This month we are collecting donations of ‘girly’ items for teen moms (ages 15-18). Young Lives, a ministry of Young Life, is dedicated to mentoring new teen moms as they navigate the journey of single motherhood. A Young Lives support group meets here regularly every month, and we want to bless each of the 15 teen moms with a fun, goodie bag; think nail polish, lip balm, coloring books & gel pens, hair bands, fun socks, etc. (these fun bags are in addition to the diapers and baby wipes the babies receive monthly from our Give 12 Campaign). Contact Dondi at 360-816-6932 or about community partner donations.
