Opportunities to Serve

Love Thy Neighborhood Community Partner Spotlight September: This month we are collecting ‘girly’ items for teen moms (ages 15-18). Think nail polish, lip balm, coloring books & gel pens, hair bands, fun socks, etc. Young Lives, a ministry of Young Life, is dedicated to mentioring new teen moms as they navigate the journey of single motherhood. A Young Lives support group meets here regularly every month, and we want to bless each of the 15 teen moms with a fun ‘girly goodie bag’ (this is in addition to the diapers and baby wipes the babies receive monthly from our Give 12 Campaign).

Giving Closet • 2804 B NE 65th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98661 • 360-993-4800 Bring your donations to the Giving Closet Monday-Thursday from 11am to 3:30pm. For a list of items we accept, holiday closures, and more, visit www.givingcloset.org. Research shows that people who volunteer live longer. To find out how, contact vicki@givingcloset.org.

Vancouver Jail Ministry gladly accepts your donations of soft-covered Christian reading material. The jail no longer accepts magazines. These materials help encourage inmates, and gives them inspiring thoughts! Bring your donations to the Jail Ministry book receptacle in the church office.
