Events & Announcements

Heatwave update: Today’s BBQ postponed! You might have noticed we’re due for some excessive heat today. Our church leadership really wants everyone to be able to enjoy their time together, so we are going to reschedule the BBQ to a cooler date. Our 15-minute Annual Business Meeting following the gathering today is still on!

Middle School Youth Collective is going to Wild Waves Friday, August 3. We will meet in front of the King’s Way High School at 8am and will return at 8pm. Cost $25. Your student may pack food or bring money for concessions at Wild Waves. Register online.

Love Thy Neighborhood Give 12 Campaign. Choose a tag from the window in the foyer, and bring the item(s) back at the 1st of each month for the coming year. Each month we will deliver your donated items to our local community partners: The Giving Closet, Kleen Street, Arbor Ridge Senior Care Facility, Sacajawea Elementary School, and Young Lives Teen Moms. If you have questions, see See Dondi in the church foyer on Sundays or email her at: DondiTheis@vancouverchurch.org.

Prophetic Training. If you want to take the next step in your relationship with the Holy Spirit, grow in your ability to hear God’s voice, and be a source of encouragement to others, join us to learn the basics of prophecy Tuesday, August 7 from 6:30-8:30pm, and Sunday, August 12 from 3-5pm in the fireside room. Training is free! No need to register, just come to training.

VC Kid’s Camp Shipwrecked: Rescued By Jesus August 13-17, 6-8:30pm, for kids age 3 through entering 5th grade. The week will be spent focusing on the saving work of Jesus. Register online now at: vancouverchurch.org/churchevents. Cost is free! Spaces are limited. Camp Supplies. Look for the Shipwrecked table in the foyer, and there you will find tags of turtles and fish with supply needs. Take a tag or two, purchase the supplies, and bring them back to church by next Sunday, August 5 or to the church office during the week. Thank you for helping us greatly as we prepare for and serve the kids in our church and community! If you have supply questions, contact Gretchen at 360-609-7885 or email VCKidselementary@vancouverchurch.org. Teens and adults: text VCKidsCamp to 97000 and sign up to serve as a crew member on one of the various teams (preparing for camp, greeting campers, leading games, serving snacks, working with kids, etc.). If you have questions about Kid’s Camp, see Steve Jensen at the BBQ today after the gatherings.
