• Who do you know that has a really strong prayer life? What have you learned from them about praying and about life in the Lord?
  • In the sermon, what was meaningful to you (vancouverchurch.org/sermons)
  • Read aloud Luke1:1-13. What do you like in this passage? What’s challenging, confusing, encouraging, inspiring, reassuring, etc.? What themes do you see running through this whole section of Scripture? What does this teach about the heart of God toward people?
  • What’s most vibrant in your prayer life right now, and what needs reviving?
  • To grow a thriving prayer life, someone once said, “Keep it simple, keep it real, and keep it up.” Discuss some of your challenges to growing in prayer and how this little saying could help you get past those barriers.
  • The sermon presented the practice of WOW / THX / HELP… LOVE YOU as a pattern for prayer. How can this be useful in your prayer life?
  • The vision for Vancouver Church includes making 2020 a “Year of Prayer”. In January, we will launch a study of the “Lord’s Prayer” to help each of us grow in the practices of prayer. This will include twenty days of prayer and fasting. We are calling every member of the church to pray more than usual while going without certain foods (or some form of comfort) for 20 days. How do you feel about it? Do you intend to be a part? If so, how can you prepare starting now?
  • Are you interested in helping others experience more prayer? What can you do to help that happen in the church, in your home, with your friends, and outside the church?
  • You can’t have a discussion about prayer with praying, right? So go for it.
