  • Read aloud Ephesians 4:1-16. What caught your attention? What was unclear? In a sentence or two, try to summarize the flow of thought in this passage.
  • Re-read Ephesians 4:1-6, what are the seven entities that are each described as “one”? What do you think Paul is trying to say about God and wholeness/unity/health?
  • In verse 3, you’ll see the directive to “keep the unity of the Spirit.” Why use the word “keep” instead of the word “make” or “create”?
  • Discuss Ephesians 4:11-16. What is the primary role of those given leadership positions? What is the role of every member of the church? What it the result of everyone serving?
  • What is the best “non-spiritual” training you’ve ever experienced? What’s the best “spiritual” training you’ve experienced? How were these experiences similar and different in content, process, practices, intensity, cost, time invested, etc. How did each impact your life?
  • Who have you helped train spiritually? How did that impact your life and their’s?
  • What is the ministry that God has called you to right now? How is that ministry maturing your life in Christ? How is it bringing spiritual maturity to the church overall?
  • End your time in prayer, asking God to help you make disciples who makes disciples.
