Annual Meeting

How We Take Care of Business

Welcome to the Vancouver Church Annual Meeting information page. Each fiscal year (starting each July) our church has two meetings. First is an Information Meeting where we review all the agenda items that need approval at the Annual Meeting. Then two weeks later, we have our Annual Meeting and vote on individual ballots for each of the issues for that year. Vancouver Church is a Church of God of Anderson, Indiana. Each church is individually governed.

We completed the 2019 Annual meeting on Sunday July 28, 2019. The next meetings are as follows:

July 12, 2020 | 12:15 pm

July 26, 2020 | 11:15 am

2019 Voting Results

All of the issues considered by the church body for ratification in 2019 received the votes required to pass:

Financial Plan – 82% in favor
Bylaw Amendment – 74% in favor
Candidate Slate – 89% in favor

Thank you to those who participated in this important aspect of the governance of our church – we value your involvement!

Boards at Vancouver Church

Vancouver Church has four boards that meet periodically. The Board of Trustees contains 12 people responsible to transact the business of the church. The Mission Action Committee manages mission funds and opportunities. The Foundation Board oversees scholarship funding and awards. The Leadership Selection Committee seeks out and nominates a slate of new board members to fill vacancies.

Documents & Resources

Attendees of Vancouver Church vote whether to ratify the proposed financial plan, any new candidates presented by the Leadership Selection Committee, and any other business before the Board of Trustees that requires a congregational vote. This can be done by attending the Annual Business Meeting or by absentee ballot, which is available on the date of the Information Meeting.

The past 2019 annual notice, proposed bylaw amendment information sheet, and proposed slate of candidates are available below. All of these were approved at the 2019 Annual Meeting:
